Ian is with us for the first time. Ian began working as a nightclub bouncer at the age of 18 and by the time he was 24, violence and anger had taken over his life. At the time he was getting more involved in crime and the taking of anabolic steroids. His obsession with bodybuilding had taken over his life and the drugs were destroying his health. His heart was becoming cold and hard as stone. After a serious fight at a club one night, he pleaded with God to change him. At that moment, love filled his heart and he was born-again by the power of God’s Spirit and he is no longer filled with hatred. He has travelled with Tough Talk and preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 27 years.
Rod has led several of our Fixed conferences but this is his first time as a speaker. Rod is a passionate evangelist whose life was once ravaged by crime and addiction. He was locked up on the island of Guernsey for smuggling class A drugs 20 years ago. During his 4 year sentence, one night in his cell, he had an encounter with Jesus and saw his life radically change. Rod’s autobiography, ‘The Real Deal’, was launched at Fixed in 2014. He works as an Evangelist for CAP and is also founder of Real Deal Ministries. Rod is also a trustee for Proclaim Trust and recently, he and his wife, Kate, were approved to become foster carers.
This is Clyde’s second year speaking at Fixed. Clyde has been following Jesus since 2003 when his life was radically changed in prison after a spiritual encounter following the death of a friend. His primary calling is to the UK, but he has travelled internationally to minister the gospel and bring hope to people. An evangelist at heart, Clyde carries a burning desire to see people find hope and true purpose in Christ. As well as leading Victory Church. he directs the UK arm of Hope Centre Ministries an international network of rehabilitation centres which has helped thousands of people get free of addiction and live purposeful lives.
Fifteen years ago, Liam walked into drug treatment. Before then, all he knew was addiction. Growing up in a broken home, Liam was subject to physical and emotional abuse. This lead to him finding escape through solvents at the age of ten. For 16 years, his life was a mess. Prison, overdoses, suicide attempts; everything he knew was chaotic. He walked into drug treatment hating himself and with no hope. Whilst in treatment, he gave his life to Jesus and has continued to walk with him until today. He lives in Bournemouth, with his wife and four children, and leads Hope Community Church. This is Liam’s first time with us as a speaker.
Alison has been part of our Fixed conferences from the beginning. For the last 23 years Alison, has travelled across the UK and other nations to communicate God’s truths. Prior to this, Alison spent many years battling alcohol addiction and using recreational drugs on the party scene. Her experience with the horrors of addiction led her to develop a chaplaincy ministry for women in Suffolk who are involved in the sex industry. Alison is a gifted speaker and a mentor to emerging evangelists.
Barry grew up in Salford, Greater Manchester. At 16, he left school with no qualifications and became drawn into the Manchester music and drugs scene. This led to a life of heroin addiction and drug dealing. After being dependent on heroin for fifteen years and spending a number of terms in prison, Barry had what he describes as a ‘religious experience’, which resulted in his life being totally transformed. He is a contemporary communicator who is humorous, passionate and inspirational.
This will be the sixth consecutive year that Trudy has been a speaker at Fixed. She has a powerful story and is passionate about reaching out to the lost, broken and downtrodden. Trudy’s life was caught in addiction, crime and prostitution before her life was transformed. Since then, she has managed a rehab centre, ministered in prisons, and travels extensively, sharing her story and the gospel message in the UK and abroad. Trudy is part of the leadership team at E5 City Church in Brisol.
Paul is a regular feature at our Fixed conferences. Paul is from London and is a testimony to the transforming power of Jesus Christ. He was a heroin addict and a violent criminal for 12 years but is now a husband to Vicky, a father and the senior pastor of Victory Outreach, Manchester. He is also the Victory Outreach International Director for the UK and Germany region. Paul has 23 years’ experience working with people with life-controlling conditions.
Alan is the pastor of Gateway Elim Church, Ammanford and this will be his fourth year speaking at Fixed. Alan spent over twenty-two years in drug addiction and criminality. Thirteen rehabilitation centres, many short prison sentences and untold psychiatric terms in hospitals never brought him the lasting breakthrough that he so desperately wanted. A life changing event and a miraculous encounter with Jesus turned his life around. Alan is married to Jackie and he’s very involved in mentoring men from similar backgrounds and speaks at Christian rehabs on a regular basis.
Anthony and his band from Victory Outreach have been involved in leading worship at Fixed for the past seven years, both in the evening & for the entire day. We have the pleasure of him & the band doing the same again this year. He has been a worship leader at VO since the late 1990s in London and became part of VO’s international worship leadership team in 2009. Anthony is currently the worship leader at VO in Manchester. He continues to serve on VO’s international team, coordinating music for all their international conferences.
Dawn will be leading worship for us alongside Anthony Farrell again in 2022. She is a singer/songwriter from the UK with a heart for Jesus, leading worship and being a light in the darkness. Her name “Elektra” means bright shining light. Dawn leads “Soul Collective” – a worship outfit made up of leaders and musicians. Songs that Dawn has written have recently been played on Radio 1 and also Songs of Praise! Dawn is passionate about reaching hearts through the gift of music and there is nothing she loves more than singing and writing songs about the love of God.
Hasina has shared at three of our previous Fixed conferences through a Spoken Word. Hasina has a powerful story of restoration and transformation. Growing up she built her identity on her sexuality, she was angry at life and the people in it. This led to a drug and alcohol addiction, a life of crime and prison until meeting Jesus in 2013 when her life was transformed. Now working with addicts and serving in the local church in Bristol as a youth leader, she has a passion for people to come to know the truth in Christ, to know their identity and live in freedom.
Marvin/Crown has performed at Fixed for the last four years. He grew up on an estate in South Manchester, notorious for violence and crime. Anger issues and insecurities led him into fighting, reacting negatively, carrying weapons and gang affiliation. He fell in love with Hip-Hop and his love for music kept him from falling deeper into the streets and crime. After a throat operation, he was told that there was a high chance that he would never rap again but God miraculously healed him. Crown became a Christian in 2013 and now has his own record label, ‘Iron Sharpens Iron,’ using music to engage young people and present the Gospel.
